Informatica is one of the famous ETL tools and most widely used tool. Its strength relies on the learning curve taken by professionals to develop a full sized datawarehouse. Informatica offers various options to integrate with all possible databases in a highly efficient way compared to other tools. It tries to use the maximum functionality of databases and other sources in order to reduce the etl server overhead. I will explain this much in the coming posts.
Unlike Abinitio, Informatica is cheaper, has sufficient pool of professionals working on it. It also is very open to marketing. Informatica solves your purpose if you are not dealing with billions and billions of data. However, you still can use informatica for such a huge data with some tweaks in it. (Explained in tutorials)
