Cognos Common Issues in Report Net Migration to Cognos8.x-part2

Migration from Cognos older versions is one of the most important project scope in present scenario after recission. Many companies are outsourcing the projects related to this. It is sure that every company havig older version of cognos is updating to its newest version and cognos 8 from cognos report net is one of such upgrades. In the previous post you have seen the common issues in Migration of Cognos reportnet (CRN) to cognos8.x. Here are some more issues that occur in Cognos Migration.



Issue 1: Chart is not Displaying in Cognos8 after migrated from CRN.
Solution:Set the "Rollup aggregate function " property to " Total" for the data item in the query used as measure in the chart


Issue 2:Layout is not prompting when running in Cognos8 report studio
Solution: Include the layout simple filter (  ?LayoutOpt? =  ?LayoutOpt?  ) in all queries.

Issue 3:Crosstab data is not displyed in cognos8
Solution: Select the text item - > Go to Properties pane -> under  "Text Source" ,  set the Source Type value as "Data item Value" and choose corresponding data item value.

Issue 4:Ordinal Axis label is not displayed Properly in c8
Solution: Select the ordinal Axis
Go to Properties and Set Label Control as "Automatic".

Issue 5:CRN crosstab has grouping but C8 has not take the grouping while migrating.
Solution: Retain the “Override Dimensions Info “ to yes for that query corresponding to  crosstab.

Issue 6:Order of Composite names in C8 are not matching with CRN
Solution: Set grouping in page set .
Page Explorer -> Report pages -> Page Set -> Data -> Groping And Sorting  ->Composite Name (Composite  ID)

Issue 7:"Calendar quarter" label is not coming for  chart
Solution: Select the Categories(x-axis) -> properties-> Text source-> Calendar Quarter

Issue 8:Html page issue: pages are no properly paginated.
Solution: Go to report format option for HTML and Check he box for Pagination.
