Business Objects(BO)-Export data from BO-Beginners Guide-12

Business Objects like any other tool supports data exporting which increases its robustness. One can easily create a report and export it to XML or txt or any other format to use it later. These exporting requires no brainer and i would prefer this exporting when ever there is a need to. Needs in here i mean scenarios such as

• You are asked to create an XML format which can be feeded to some other tool.
• You are asked to migrate to a newer Business Objects version.

To export the data from BO to the required format:
1. Open the report from which data needs to be exported.
2. Click View Data on the Data menu. The Data Manager window appears.

3. In Data Providers box, click the icon of the data provider containing the data you want to export.
4. Clicking Export the Export to External Format dialog box appears.

5. Click the option under Format for your data export.
6. Click OK to export the data.
7. You can now use the data from BO in the applications that support the external format you selected.
