Line charts are the basic charts in reporting world. They are extremly useful in showing trends with many data series for certain time period.These Line charts are drawn by mapping points at regular intervals and connecting them with strainght line segments. Cognos line chart just like other charts is having different variations in the configurations.
They are:- Standarad Line chart, Stacked line chart, 100% stacked line chart and 3D Line chart. For other charts like

The line chart in the adjacent pic shows Revenue trend in every territory for 3 successive years with a regular interval of 1 yr.
Now, let us see how to create a line chart in Cognos?
Steps to create a line chart in Cognos:
1. Create Line Chart using Go Sales and retailers Package.Insert Chart from Insertable Object Pane.
2. Select Line Chart by clicking on the available graphs in the pop up window.
3. Add product name from Products Folder into x-axis,margin from Products Folder into Y-axis
(You can add any data item as your choice into Series)
4. Now, Run the report and find your own line chart created by you.
