What's New in Cognos10? Highlights Features Enhancements

Cognos10 the new IBM's update for its reporting tool is just out. As per the IBM's Transcripts, cognos10 looks promising and the latest features introduced looks great. Cognos10 covers many of the pitfalls and drawbacks that cognos8 had earlier.

Access to SAP Busines Warehouse
Most importantly cognos10 is having an option to connect to SAP Business warehouse, which is a great move by IBM. What it means to you? Cognos10 now having the SAP Business warehouse means it can access the data from SAP and use it in the reporting. Users of SAP Business warehouse used Business Objects(BO) as the only source of Reporting till now, which is now no more a hurdle. In other words, IBM is playing cleverly and making its users to use cognos even for a SAP user. So lets wait and see what SAP is going to do with its BO.



Lotus:
Cognos10 also has support to lotus connections once again an IBM's inhouse software.

IBM Cognos Lifecycle Manager is an application that performs automated testing of IBM Cognos Business Intelligence report content in multiple environments. It validates, executes and then compares report outputs to ensure that there are no differences between versions due to upgrades. With IBM Cognos Lifecycle Manager, you can quickly and efficiently compare reports using any supported language or output type.

Available various formats:
More Options for Powerpoint, Word and Excel. So now you can view reports in various formats other than pdf, excel and html.

Mobile:
Now, Cognos has become icognos. Just kidding. Cognos now can be viewed in mobile also.
