Convert Table to Crosstab in Business Objects-Beginners Tutorial-4

Crosstab in Business Objects can be created in two ways. You can either create a crosstab from scratch or you can convert an existing table to a crosstab. In Business Objects (BO), Creating a crosstab from a table is pretty similar to the previous post where i have explained in detail on how to create a table in Business Objects.

Step by step Tutorial on How to create a Crosstab from Table:
First select the table of your choice you have created or the table you created from the previous post on table creation.
Now select the values from any columns using CTRL+CLICK or SHIFT+CLICK. These values will serve as the heading for our cross tab.

In this example, i have used values from year column to create the heading for our Crosstab. Values 1999,2000,2001 etc are being selected.

Now drag the values to the head of the table carefully as shown below.
Note: If you drop in the wrong place, you would not get a crosstab. Don't worry‐ just click the Undo button and try again.
Now, If you finished dragging, Save the report and you are done. That's it you will get a crosstab ready. Just hit the Run button or F5 and see your newly converted crosstab from table.
So, Creating of Crosstabs from a table is as easy as that of Cognos. So, lets move on to the graphical designs. You know what i mean rite, Yes, Charts. :)
